Toast doesn’t always hit the mark in the morning. Sometimes you need a little treat to get you ready for the day. Our Crisp French Toast does just that, without leaving you with a guilty feeling.
Reduced:
32g of sugar swapped for 1 tbsp of honey and the berries sweet taste
Ingredients
6 Large Eggs
60ml Skimmed Milk
2tbsp Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
2 tbsp Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
1 tbsp Honey
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Ground Nutmeg
Pinch Of Salt
Pinch Of Ground Cloves
1 tbsp Unsalted Butter
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
8 Slices Of Whole-Grain Bread – Preferably day-old or stale
Method:
Begin by beating eggs in a deep baking tray.
Add milk, orange juice, lemon juice, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg salt and cloves then stir until thoroughly mixed.
Place butter and oil in a large skillet on high-heat and allow to sit until hot.
Take the bread and place it into the baking tray, allowing to soak in the egg mixture for 30 seconds.
Remove each slice and let the excess egg drip off.
Carefully lay the bread into the skillet pan and turn the heat down slightly.
Allow to cook until bottom-side is browned (this should take a minute or two).
Using a spatula, flip the bread and again, allow to cook until browned.
Remove from the pan.
Eat a miracle berry and enjoy.
